Calotype
The calotype is a slow, delicate positive / negative paper process, invented in 1841 by William Henry Fox Talbot. I often teach this process alongside Talbot's earlier 1839 Photogenic Drawing Technique. The Calotype is best learnt over three days to encompass paper preparation and printing.
I occasionally run week long workshops in thje Calotype process at my studio in Nuneaton in collaboration with process historian Rob Douglas. The next one is scheduled for May 18th - 22nd 2026. Further details can be found here.
